Cutting plus programming

Transponder chip keys made on-site.

A chip key must do more than turn the ignition—it must be recognized by the vehicle. We cut and program compatible transponder keys for many cars, trucks and SUVs.

Tell us whether the security light flashes or the engine cranks without starting.

Why the chip matters

A mechanical copy may not start the car.

Many vehicles contain an immobilizer that checks for an authorized transponder. The blade and chip must both be correct for normal operation.

01

Chip-key replacement

Replace a lost, broken or unreliable transponder key.

02

Spare chip keys

Add a backup transponder key before the last working key disappears.

03

Immobilizer pairing

Program supported keys so the vehicle recognizes the transponder.

Service process

Cut, program and confirm.

  • Identify the correct key system for the vehicle
  • Confirm whether a working key remains
  • Cut the replacement blade when required
  • Program the transponder to the supported vehicle
  • Test starting and key operation before completion

Common questions

Transponder key FAQ

How do I know whether my key contains a chip?

Vehicle year, make, model and key style usually help identify the system. Contact us with those details.

Can you clone my existing key?

Some key systems support duplication or cloning while others require vehicle programming. We determine the appropriate method for the vehicle.

Is a transponder key the same as a key fob?

Not always. A transponder authorizes starting; remote buttons control functions such as locking. They may be combined in one key or separate.
